Grade 0 & R

Grade 0 & R

Pre-Primary

Grade 0 (Year Before Grade R)

Grade 0 is an important preparatory year designed to gently transition young children into a structured school environment while still allowing for age-appropriate exploration and growth.

In Grade 0, we focus on:

  • Developing early language and communication skills

  • Building foundational numeracy concepts

  • Encouraging fine and gross motor development

  • Establishing routine, attention, and good behaviour

  • Fostering social skills, confidence, and independence

Our approach balances guided learning with purposeful play, ensuring that each child develops the readiness required for Grade R.

Grade R: learners must turn 6 in the year of admission

In the early years, we focus on building a strong foundation for future learning.
Learners are guided through:

  • Early phonics and language development

  • Basic numeracy skills

  • Routine, discipline, and school readiness

  • Social and emotional development

We place particular emphasis on forming good habits, attention, and a love for learning from a young age.
